Kyle Adams (Darwin, NT)

DJ in Residence

Kyle Adams has been a member of the CemeNTStars Theatre Group for people with a disability as part of the CemeNTworx Theatre Program run by Artistic Director Tania Lieman at Darwin Community Arts Inc. since 2014.

He has performed as an actor and songwriter in several major productions including: Freezing Hot (2014), Reading The Signs (2015), Dream Baby Dream (2016), and Vizability (2017). He has performed for National Youth Week, at the Regional Health Conference in Darwin 2015, Darwin Harmony Soiree and is a member of the Sing Song Signers Signing Choir through Project 21 (Down Syndrome Association of the NT).

He began to explore and experiment with RAP, DJ’ing and music development in 2015 when he created a RAP song/shadow theatre performance So You Can See My Heart in collaboration with Tania Lieman and Mat Cunliffe.

He worked with James Mangohig as a contributor to the development of the CemeNTstars theme RAP song We Are CemeNTstars.

In 2017-2018 Kyle embarked on a skills development project funded by the Strategic Development Initiative through ArtsNT with Producer James Mangohig, Composer and Sound Engineer Mat Cunliffe and Creative Producer/ Theatre Director Tania Lieman to develop his rap, DJ, song writing and presentation skills.
