Josh Campton (SA)

Josh Campton is an Aboriginal artist with disability. He is a Larrakia (NT), Wadaman /Karajarri (WA) man. He also has Irish, Chinese, German, Japanese, English, Filipino and Scottish heritage.

Josh is a dancer, poet, DJ and actor. He also makes films, creates music, choreographs dance pieces, and paints. He performs with Kurruru Performing Arts, No Strings Attached and studies film and new media, visual arts and performing arts at Tutti Arts. He also attends the Access2Arts Beats program developing his skills as DJ Salt. He has performed in Darwin, Adelaide, Sydney, Perth and Melbourne, and appears in a number of films including ‘Lost in Confusion’ (2011/12), ‘Maurice’s Symphony’ (2015/16) and ‘Jeremy the Dud’ (2017).

He was awarded an Australia Council Jump Mentoreeship in 2012. Josh was a writer for ‘The Performance Encyclopedia’ at the Australian Theatre Forum in 2017. His own film, ‘The Landscape Diaries’ featuring his poetry and dance will screen at the Tutti ‘Sit Down and Shut Up Film Festival’ in South Australia later this year.
